Title
4A4PEDs (název však bude koordinátorem ještě upřesněn)
Summary
Design and implementation of PEDs is hampered by the diversity and complexity of PED-systems, the necessary interventions and the range of societal impacts. The concept of energy resilience can capture energy, technical, economic and social impacts of PEDs.
In this project, we develop, apply, validate, valorise and disseminate a conceptual impact assessment framework and model based on energy resilience in PEDs. We consider four dimensions of energy resilience (four As): 1) Availability of sufficient and diverse clean energy sources next to storage capacity; 2) Accessibility to renewable sources through infrastructures, devices and appliances for distribution and exchange; 3) Affordability for individual households, business, and communities; and 4) Acceptability for all stakeholders in their different capacities.
After the development of the model by mapping interconnections between the different policy and disciplinary domains in PED developments, we validate the 4A-approach in four living labs: Amstelveen (NL), Verona (IT), Helsinki metropolitan region (FIN) and Battenberg-Hatzfeld (GER). Finally, we develop tools and guidelines for dissemination supporting PED design throughout the EU, in cooperation with networks of European platforms on climate-neutral cities and PEDs, and in partnership with an European University with a mission on climate neutral cities in the exploitation towards education (U!REKA-SHIFT).
