The preliminary defence of the doctoral dissertation was introduced after the transition from 3-year to 4-year doctoral programmes and fields of study.
Rules:
- The defence takes place before the committee of the department where the PhD student's supervisor is supervising.
- The members of the committee are selected from the professors and associate professors of the department.
- The student reports for the preliminary defense to his/her advisor, who assembles the committee and sends the M.D. to the Ph.D. advisor at least 30 days before the preliminary defense. Ing. Hana Dluhošová the composition of the committee.
- The course of the preliminary defence:
- 20min presentation
- 10min discussion and questions
- secret ballot of the committee
- After the vote, the chair of the committee will announce the results, fill in the protocol (it will include: committee, course, questions, evaluation, date, signature of all members). The protocol will be handed in within a week after the pre-defence Mgr. Ing. Hana Dluhošová.
- The pre-defence applies to students who submit their doctoral thesis after 31 January 2012.
