Summary
The submitted project has three goals. The first one is to develop new efficient algorithms for the solution of contact problems with friction. These algorithms will be based on the theory of duality and on the latest results on the solution of large qua dratic programming problems. The second goal concerns applications of these algorithms to the solution of problems of contact shape optimization with Coulomb friction. Finally, the third goal is to implement these algorithms into the packages ANSYS and O DESSY and to test their performance in the solution of practical problems. The package ODESSY has been developed at Aalborg University with which we cooperate in shape optimization research.
