Summary
The project at hand is a project in theoretical computer science. Its goal is to characterize the computational power and efficiency of specialized computational models and to investigate their ability to model problems from selected application domains of contemporary computer science. The research will focus mainly to the following models and application domains: non-uniform computational models to be used in interactive, global or evolutionary computing; cognitive and neural computing models in AI; specialized finite automata and/or grammars to be used in linguistics; branching programs for studying space-complexity aspects of computing; finite computational models for approximation of empirical functions.
