ADVANCEMED: Trends and modern technologies in healthcare

The ADVANCEMED 2025 conference will take place in Ostrava's Dolní Vítkovice on 3 and 4 April and will focus on the latest trends and opportunities in artificial intelligence, virtual reality, robotics and other modern technologies in healthcare. One of the expert sponsors of the event is the Technical University of Ostrava.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FEECS) of VSB-TUO will be well represented among the lecturers.

  • Professor Václav Snášel, Rector of VSB-TUO, will present AI as a tool for understanding medical data.
  • Professor Martin Pumera, head of the ADVANCED NANOROBOTS AND MULTISCALE ROBOTICS LAB research group at the FEI, will focus on the use of nanorobots in healthcare.
  • Professor Radek Martinek, Vice Dean for Science and Research at FEI, will present projects focused on biomedicine and innovative solutions for clinical practice.
  • Cybersecurity in healthcare: Professor Ivan Zelinka from FEI will focus on data and system security.
  • Lukáš Peter, Vice Dean for Cooperation with Industry from the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, will focus on the legislative requirements for marketing AI medical devices.

Practical demonstrations and booths:

  • Signal Lab FEI: Demonstration of the use of artificial intelligence and advanced signal and image analysis for diagnostic decision making.
  • Department of Cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering FEI: Presentation of 3D printed organ models, a wireless monitoring system for measuring O₂ and CO₂ concentrations, and the use of 3D and VR technologies in pre-operative preparation. Visitors will be able to try out some of the VR models for themselves.
