Math4U project reaches a school in Tanzania

The Math4U portal, prepared by experts from the Department of Applied Mathematics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, VSB-TUO in cooperation with secondary schools from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Spain, is used to teach and practice mathematics.

As part of the international student project Hakuna Matata (EUK - Education under Kilimanjaro) and under the auspices of the organization Bez Mámy, Czech students are trying to enrich teaching in Africa in various subjects. In February, the Ostrava students visited a partner school in Mlondwe, where they also introduced the Math4U project to teachers and provided printed math problems in English to support math teaching.
The Math4U web portal is designed for students to practise secondary school mathematics in an attractive and comprehensive way and for teachers to prepare interactive tests and papers for the classroom. The portal has won major awards (LABEL 2020, eLearning 2021 award, nomination for the DZS Award in the Digitization category) for its contribution to language education, the possibility of teaching using the CLIL method and innovative online tools for teaching.
