FEECS presented itself at the electrotechnical exhibition
Visitors to the Volty.cz electrotechnical exhibition, which took place in Ostrava on the first two days of October, were introduced to the latest trends and technologies. This year, for the first time, VSB - Technical University Ostrava, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (FEECS) was also represented.

The event was attended by a number of major companies that presented modern technologies and innovations in the field of electrical engineering, electromobility, energy, metering, lighting, automation and renewable energy.

The Department of Electrical Power Engineering and the Department of Cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering participated in the fair on behalf of FEECS. Visitors were able to see an autonomous mobile robot, try out a robot pianist or learn about digital twin technology.

Adam Kozmon from the Department of Electrical Engineering gave a lecture on the use of digital twins in switchgear design as part of the accompanying programme. "Designing a switchboard involves a series of calculations, design verification and design modifications, which allows to simplify and accelerate the very concept of digital twin. Advantages in simulation, optimization and integration with modern technologies mean that digital twins are increasingly considered an indispensable tool not only in the field of electrical engineering, but also in a wide range of industries," Adam Kozmon explained.

In addition to lectures, the exhibition included panel discussions and a special section for schools, where students learned about career opportunities in the electrical engineering industry.
