The outcome of doctoral studies is a state doctoral examination and a successfully defended doctoral dissertation. The dissertation is the final thesis of students at the highest level of their undergraduate studies. It should contain original and unpublished findings. Successful defence of this thesis gives the author the right to use the academic title Philosophiae Doctor abbreviated as Ph.D.
