The bachelor's thesis is one of the first major publications produced by university students. The thesis is evaluated by the supervisor and the opponent. It is the ticket to the bachelor's degree. It can also serve as a basis for future careers, and students can develop this work further in theses and dissertations.
At the beginning of the summer semester of the second year, students choose the topic of their bachelor thesis published in the EDISON system. They first contact the supervisor of the chosen bachelor thesis, meet with him/her and discuss the assignment. They then submit the topic in the EDISON system. Students can come to the supervisor of their field of study with a proposal for their own bachelor thesis topic, who will assess it and, if necessary, recommend a suitable supervisor. From this point on, it is advisable to work actively on the implementation of the thesis and to communicate with the thesis supervisor.
During the winter semester of the third year (usually in November), they will pick up the original bachelor's thesis assignment from the Department of Cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering secretariat. This assignment must be inserted officially as the second sheet of the bachelor thesis. There are two compulsory courses associated with the Bachelor's thesis, namely Bachelor's Project I (or Bachelor's Seminar I) in the winter semester and Bachelor's Project II (or Bachelor's Seminar II) in the summer semester. These courses are completed with credits awarded by the supervisor of the Bachelor's thesis. The award of credit is governed by the requirements for awarding credit published in the course descriptions in the EDISON system.
Bachelor theses must be uploaded to the IS no later than the deadline specified on the original assignment of the Bachelor thesis. The bachelor thesis is also submitted printed and bound in hardcover to the supervisor of the bachelor thesis. The two versions of the bachelor thesis - the electronic and the printed version - must be identical.
