We are a department that provides teaching in four attractive bachelor's and two master's degree programs. We also guarantee the teaching of doctoral students. In addition to pedagogical activities, we solve a number of scientific research projects for grant agencies, as well as research tasks assigned and funded by private companies. This research activity and cooperation with companies is reflected in teaching, where they allow students to participate in projects, gain practice and bring during their studies. That is why our students manage a good job without any problems after graduation.

Specialists working in the field of measuring and control technology working at the department, including both technical and software equipment for real-time control, from the field of electronic measuring and medical devices, from the field of signal processing and other areas. Department history
The establishment of the Department of Measurement and Control Engineering in 1990 was a response to the planned restructuring of the Ostrava region and an increased interest in measurement, regulation, automation and informatics in industry. The Department was established on 1 July 1990 as the Department of Microelectronics, but during the autumn of 1990 the name was changed to the Department of Microelectronics, Measurement and Control Engineering.
After the establishment of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and a new field of study measurement and control technology, the department changed its name for the second time in 1992 to the name Department of Measurement and Control Technology. The head of the department was appointed on July 1, 1990 by prof. Ing. Pavel Nevřiva, DrSc., From 15.12.1992 he was appointed head of the department doc. Ing. Vilém Srovnal, CSc. In 2009, the Department of Measurement and Control Engineering and the Department of Electrical Measurements were merged into a single department.
The small staff of the department thus becomes a large department in terms of number of employees and professional scope. The head of the department is elected doc. Ing. Jiří Koziorek, Ph.D.
