Summary
The aim of proposed project is to perform detailed analysis and study of services limit parameters (data, voice, multimedia – IPTV, VoD, OTT , etc.) in VHCN (Very High Capacity Networks) within measuring polygon. In case of VHCN it is necessary to consider the whole topology concept, from the point of view whether ISP (Internet Service Provider) sufficiently setting up parameters of their networks regarding to provided services to the end stations/users with adequate QoS (Quality of Services) and data throughput. These individual obligations or criterions are given by Y.1540 recommendation and without their compliance the network cannot be considered VHCN. In the past, the authors of this proposal have implemented testing polygon within their laboratory at university, their current intension is to integrate their polygon into the CESNET network. This project is following current trends of building up of optical networks and transition to 10G networks. For this reason, is planned to purchase new device XGS-PON (symmetric GPON operating at 10G) with possibility to switching over to GPON operation. The other project goal is to perform network load tests with the help of server of services and parameters evaluation on the basis of sophisticated measuring methods or software tools.
